It is located above the \u010cepi\u0107 field, former lake, as gives a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding hills, U\u010dka Mountain, Julian Alps and the Dolomites.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>1.419 inhabitants, 60.15 sq. km<\/h3>\n<p>Municipality of Gra\u010di\u0161\u0107e covers the area of 60,15 square kilometers, and according to 2011 Census, it has 1.419 inhabitants.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/ms?msa=0&amp;msid=218282544747356232523.0004e63f23ea94c79d920&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;t=m&amp;ll=45.179133,13.982162&amp;spn=0.193605,0.411301&amp;z=11&amp;output=embed\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Distinctive architecture and rich cultural heritage<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-189\" src=\"http:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/1-mala-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"1 mala\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/1-mala-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/1-mala-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/1-mala.jpg 1134w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Life in this area is present since the prehistoric times, and the name Gallignana, over two millennia ago, came from the ancient Gauls. A more intense life to the area came with the Slavic people, whose spiritual heritage is still present in the name of the hill \u2013 Perun\u010devac, named after the supreme Slavic deity Perun, but also in the millennia old worshippinh of Svantevid, from which as some believe comes the Christian St. Vitus, the protector of the Gra\u010di\u0161\u0107e parish.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-191\" src=\"http:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/1017264_497517403654113_1346197826_n-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"1017264_497517403654113_1346197826_n\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/1017264_497517403654113_1346197826_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lag-sredisnjaistra.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/1017264_497517403654113_1346197826_n.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One particularity of Gra\u010di\u0161\u0107e is its urban structure, or the division of the town that was once encompassed by town walls into districts, each of which has its own square and church.<br \/>\nThe most representative is, of course, the centre of the town \u2013 Plac, with the Church of Our Lady, St. Anthony\u2019s chapel and the Salamon palace. This part of the town is available through the west gates with a loggia built in 1549. Due to its preserved medieval urban structure and numerous cultural and historical sites, Gra\u010di\u0161\u0107e is entirely under legal protection.<\/p>\n<p>The beauty and the simplicity of the cultural and historical heritage sites in a preserved landscape are the biggest value of Gra\u010di\u0161\u0107e and a reason why more and more visitors come every day.
